Reflecting on my second term as Principal - Lessons Learned

Lessons learned .... Find ways to support people who are struggling and keep communication open and transparent.   Be clear.  Be honest.  Be supportive.  Strength based. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Be WARM but be DEMAND high standards and excellence. Enjoy the lulls cos they don't last for long.    These are the times to make hay while the sun is shining and get alongside the children whenever you can. Forgive and try to forget.  Always be the professional.  Even when you have been mistreated and hurt. When you have done everything you can and have acted with best intent and things haven't gone how you want ... move on. You can influence but the only thing you can control completely is how you respond and react.

Predict what the tricky questions might be and be ready to keep bridging back to the 3 points!
